My Journey

Poor nutrition and constant stress takes a toll on your body and how you feel about yourself. You find yourself in a downward spiral you can’t escape. I know how that feels because that was me too.

After my first child, I struggled with mental stress, weight gain and constant low energy. I couldn’t perform daily tasks without feeling exhausted.

I had terrible brain fog but I needed to go back to work.

I lost my Dad to cancer shortly after and it was the wake-up call I needed to break the cycle.

This was on top of losing my mother much too young at the age of 67 from a stroke. She had spent her life sacrificing herself for everyone else. She was the CEO of a large export company, a mother of two, a wife and someone who ran on caffeine, cigarettes and breakfast at 3 PM (a Danish pastry and yoghurt).

She suffered a heart attack at 48. And as a result of her stressful lifestyle, we now no longer get to enjoy her company.

This phase of my life taught me many things and that’s why I decided to bounce back and start with a fresh and rejuvenated energy when I felt myself repeating my mother’s patterns. It is how I began my journey to become a professional mental health and food nutritionist in Perth.
